Albuquerque Saving water - Saving the environment

Woman spraying waterI was reading a great post that Sarah Peterson of SavePhoenix.org wrote about water conservation. Her article focuses on changes you can make in the bathroom that can have a huge impact on your water usage. Some of these changes are inexpensive, such as changing to low-flow shower heads. Even luxury bathrooms can be eco-friendly with tips for steam showers and infrared saunas.

In Albuquerque, if you switch to a low-flow or high-efficiency toilet, you may qualify for a rebate of $150-$200. For more information, visit Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (ABCWUA).  Other services from ABCWUA include free water audits as well as rebates on other water usage items.

Green Tip: With the cooler temperatures in September water your lawn just twice a week.

Environmentally Friendly Bathroom Design

Bathroom showers, toilets, and sinks account for approximately 75% of the water used in each American home. It is important for all of us to do more to save water, both to protect our world’s natural resources and to lower the economic impact of wasteful water usage. Click to continue
