Albuquerque NM Holiday Memories

Ghost of Christmas Past

Winrock Albuquerque NMWinrock Albuquerque NMWinrock Mall is a ghost–in more ways than just Christmas. For years, it ailed along until even Santa abandoned it. I personally loved Winrock for Christmas.

I took all three of my children Winrock Albuquerque NMthere for a visit
with Santa and a ride on the train. I’m just glad my kids are older now and I didn’t have to face a visit with Santa at one of the other malls.

Ghost of Christmas Present

Coronado Albuquerque NMThis, of course, would be Coronado and Cottonwood Malls. I admit I am not a mall kind of gal, which is why Winrock was my prefered mall for Santa. But with the demise of Winrock, Albuquerque still has two lively spots for Santa visits and the much cherished Santa photo.

Ghost of Christmas Future

ABQ Uptown Albuquerque NMI may not be a mall gal, but I love a good outdoor one. Yes, that would be ABQ Uptown! While I don’t see much happening here this year, they do have a lovely tree, and I think and hope ABQ Uptown will be the place to take the family to in the future. In the meantime, check out their newly updated website. About time!

Merry Christmas to ALbuquerue. Albuquerque has great Christmas fun for all indoor as well as outdoors! Malls in ALbuquerque look like lively places for children!

Ashley - I, too, love an outdoor mall and all the Christmas festivities. It does get a bit chilly here compared to Albuquerque, but you would be surprised how many people are out.

Ashley, this was very touching…the ghost of Christmas past made me kind of wistful too…not sure if that was your intent. LOL

The mall where I had my picture taken with Santa is still, thankfully, going strong.

Janis - Poor Winrock isn’t lively anymore but ABQ Uptown is really turning into a great upscale replacement.

Paula - I think for a good outdoor holiday or shopping experience the cold won’t stop anyone! We can always bundle up.

Ashley - over the last 10 years here we’ve seen mall developments move to outdoor malls - I personally find them more convenient so I guess I’m not a mall girl either. I do have to admit the traditional malls are convenient for Santa visits though - ahhh Living in ABQ past, present and future - without a scary ghost (lol)
